Is there an age requirement to foster?

You must be at least 21 years of age to foster one of our animals.  If you currently live with your parents and are under the age of 21, we do have exceptions and can connect to discuss further.

Why foster?

You are helping save the life of an animal in dire need. You are making room for another to be saved as well. It is a win, win situation! Fosters make the world go round for our rescue. We are so thankful to each & every one. You may also foster to see if an animal is the right fit for your dynamic and lifestyle.

What does fostering mean?

Fostering means you are providing a loving, stable and responsible home until the animal is adopted, treating the animal as if it is your own.

What is the process for fostering?

Ally’s Animal Rescue covers all vet work that is necessary when fostering an animal. We have several different vets we work with. We also are happy to reimburse for any supplies purchased with proof of receipt, or we can send through Amazon prime/Chewy.

How long do fosters have the animals for?

Until adopted which varies in time.  I would say to allow up to 2/3 months for the animals to be adopted, often times it can be much less time though.

Can fosters adopt the animal?

YES! Most of our adoptions are through fostering the animal to adopt. As long as the foster is a good fit.

What is a foster to adopt?

Accepted Answer

A foster to adopt is essentially a trial before committing to adopt the animal. We usually allow approx 2 weeks to decide if doing a trial. We believe this is the best way to decide rather than a quick meet & greet.

How do dogs find their adopter through Ally’s Animal Rescue?

We post all of our animals on Petfinder as well as our website and social media pages. Networking has been our biggest success in finding animals homes due to our large network. For meet & greets, we usually recommend setting up a time to meet at the fosters home or a mutual ground like a park works too.
